Blog 10: Senior Project Update

1) What are you currently doing in your independent component? 

• In regards to my independent component I am currently trying to find research to choose one topic to focus on and discuss with my mentor when doing my service learning hours. 

2) What is a recent piece of research (article, interview, or audio-visual) that have you reviewed you would say was significant in helping you understand where to go next in your senior project?  The piece of research should be something you reviewed in November.  Please explain what you learned and where are you going next because of this piece of research.

• One significant piece of research that has helped me understand where to go next in my senior project is "Promoting the Health of Adolescents : New Directions for the twenty-First Century." I learned that just because teens are not sexually active they are still at risk for contracting a sexually transmitted disease. This piece of research is also helping me narrow down which disease I might use for my essential question. 

3) Provide evidence from your independent component or the piece of research as something you recently did.  For example, a photo of something you working on for your independent component or your notes from the video you watched. 

This is a picture of the book that helped give me a better understanding behind adolescents behavior and frame of mind when it comes to sexual behaviors. I only read a part of the book, because the whole thing was not available online. I am going to look through the actual book and if it looks like it may have more information that can help me then I will purchase it.
